Twitter's for the Followers!

It's Monday night get home from class, grab some food, walk into the room, grab the laptop and turn the TV on. Go to my recorded list and put dancing with the stars on. Forward through it and find Rob Kardashian’s part, just to see how well he did, since that’s all the Kardashian sisters were tweeting all night! Convinced, Rob got my vote!

It's amazing how celebs can easily influence their fans to do things especially now since social media is their main source of interaction with their fans or should I say followers.

In the example used with the Kardashians, they promote themselves mainly through social media, Twitter, a popular social media tool that celebs and people use to tweet about things happening in their daily lives.

Who needs the news now when you have a "Twitter"? Take when Apple’s ceo, Steve Jobs past away, it was all over twitter!

The pros of Twitter you get to see what your favorite celebrities are up to and you find out the latest news within minutes. It’s a great way to promote yourself, just look at Snooki, she promotes her ridiculous creations as well as other celebs promote their albums and movies.

Yea it sounds like all glitz and glamour, but is it really? Do you really want anyone to be allowed to see what you are tweeting? There's no privacy anyone can follow your account and easily have access to what you are writing.

Can we speak our mind? You’re limited on what you write! This isn’t a text message where you only get to write 140 characters! Some may think of it as a pro but at the end of the day you shouldn't be limited to what you have to say.

Just like celebs use Twitter to promote, companies do the same except they promote their services or products.

Individuals use Twitter just the same as celebs, to update their statuses on what their up to, to follow their favorite celebrities and for networking as well.

Twitter has become such a big hit with today’s society, it’s hard not to fall into today’s trend. So at the end of the day, who are YOU going to follow?

  1. I completely agree with what you said about how all news is on twitter now a days as well as facebook. The second anything happens whether it's a team winning a sports game or anything news related at all you can always find out about it on any of these social media sites first.
