Photobucket: Back in the Game

I don't know about any of you, but when I hear someone mention Photobucket, it brings back memories of the Myspace days.

Although it doesn't seem as popular anymore, I used to use Photobucket for uploading any and all of my posing-with-a-kissy-face-in-front-of-the-mirror Myspace pictures (as if I had any).

It's an image and video sharing site where you can search other photos and videos posted by other users, or upload some of your own. You can create slideshows or send images to your cell phone.

In a 2007 article, many of today's hottest music artists are using Photobucket to share concert photos, album releases, and fan contests. Aimee from the band Dirtie Blonde says, "it's about creating a community with our fans who share our love for great music."

Not only are celebs and average joe's using Photobucket as an image-hosting site, but some companies are too. Intercasting Corp., which is a leading mobile media company, launched a wireless-to-web Photobucket application that lets almost 40 millions users share photos on their phones to upload them to Photobucket.

The Photobucket app lets companies create apps that let users access their photos and videos from outside Photobucket.

It appears Photobucket has a lot more features now than it did during the Myspace days. And like any other social media tool, continues to grow.
