Benefits from Facebook Pages.

A year after I joined Sigma Beta Chi Sorority- I became Public Relations Chair and created a Facebook page for active and alumni sisters. Only active sisters are administrators- and can post pictures, create events, accept requests, and what not. it is mainly used among us.

Inviting people to our events, making general announcements, sharing old/new pictures, keeping contact with alumni has never been easier..

I recently got the position again and this past weekend, I created an event and attempted to create an add- but there’s a fee- so I couldn’t continue with it until talked about it with all the sisters L

Just like my sorority has benefited from facebook pages- so have celebrities and even companies like sprint.

Fans have stayed up to date with their favorite artist or have discussed latest hits with other fans. Celebrities have used this to get their personal brand out there, make themselves known among new people but also not forgetting their current fans.

Companies like Sprint, have also created pages. I liked this page a few months ago, and in the past few days, it has gained hundreds of fans- because of its APPLE 4S release date of course.

Sprint, the third largest carrier posted that the iphone 4s will be available for pre-order. The website was available at 3AM and by 3:03AM- they were out of stock.

This just shows how much of an impact a post in facebook can do, and how many of them are actually following Sprint.

Everybody is anxious and some are actually glad that they haven’t taken away the unlimited plan, i’m one of those many!

Here's a clip i took of sprint's facebook page with curate.us. 646,760 users like this page.

I did some surfing and found out about curate.us, a site that creates clips and quotes of web content allowing you to post them in blogs, email, forums, and websites.

Thought it was interesting- because you don’t even need an account and it is completely free. I can now share a website or parts of the site through facebook, blogger, or any social media site.
