Social Media bring Success to Companies!

Social media has become such a necessity in today's world, that its almost impossible to go on without it in today's society. Whether it be for social purposes, networking, blogging, streaming videos, etc. Social media has quickly moved its way into something we can no longer be without.

That being said companies have also hopped on to the social media train, in order to help bring more success to their company. We have become so dependent in technology, that its almost like if you don't engage in social media, who are you? The way that society is now, its necessary for companies to engage in social media to increase productivity, sales therefore increasing their revenue.

Engaging employees in social media you can have your companies brand name promoted in several different ways, through blogs, forums, social networks, etc. When employees and companies interact with each other and their customers they begin to form some type of relationship, in which if satisfied you keep them coming back for more.

In the slides, "Getting your Company Ready", one of the statements is "Many companies do not engage with their customers", and then has them ranked according to how they rank in social media. You would be surprised, that some of the most known brands did not rank as high.

Big companies like Volkswagon and BP the gas station fell under low engagement and low presence. Companies like this are well known but don't do much of social media to engage with one another and their customers.

I drive a Volkswagen, but now that I think about it, why am I drinking a VW? There's nothing I can remember really that the company did to bring me in, except for me seeing it on the street and thinking "Oh that's a cute car!" Unlike VW, Honda has a more effective way of using social media and you can see the difference and why Honda is more of a successful company. If you look at their facebook pages you see the difference between Honda and Volkswagen is the interaction with their customers!
