Open Forum at the Dinner Table

So it went a little like this…

Everyone was talking at the same time. My brothers, my sister, my mother and a few friends of the family all had something to say.

I was pretty nervous about the whole thing. I took a deep breath and asked everyone to feel free to give me their thought about how I was promoting my Personal Brand.

The first reaction I got were confused faces no one really knew what I was talking about. I just threw the topic into discussion while everyone was distracted just to get their attention and hey, it worked!

After I had everyone’s attention I began describing “My Personal Brand” and how I felt it should be portrayed. Nervous and all I managed to clearly let them know what I had posted for our class blog.

Soon enough everyone decided to comment. Some of them were quite the jokesters about it, but in the end I received very positive feedback.

For the most part, my mother and my sister are very supportive and they were very proud of the fact that I stated, “I go above and beyond to help others”.

One of my brothers insisted I should touch more on the subject about me being “bossy” since I push to constantly get things done. My interpretation of his “bossy” was that I am determined and I don’t like to procrastinate.

My youngest brother’s response to my brand was, “yea ok”. He’s the joker that only admits that I am all these great things, but ONLY when were alone.

In a crowd of people he doesn’t really like to show his sweet side, but I know if I ask him again in a few years when he’s older with any crowd he will proudly advocate for me.

As for the friends we had over, because of the fact that every time they come over I am either getting home from work or leaving for school. They were happy to agree with how determined I am to do what I have to do.

Everyone’s responses were appreciated and I informed them I would mention them all on my next class blog. This is where they all wanted to know what I had to say about them.

Gotta Love Food!

Hmmmm!!! You have no idea how much I enjoy a tasteful dish. I eat mostly anything and I also like to try new things I haven’t tried before.

The one thing I now need to work on is cooking what I love to eat. Because of my hectic schedule by the time I get home I don’t really want to even think about it and the time it’ll take to prepare a good dish. I’ll just buy food and call it a day.

My boyfriends’ mom can cook just about anything I try helping her when I can so I can pick up a few tricks, but I know there is no way to compete with this woman. The dishes she prepares are to die for and I want in on what she knows.

In order to learn how to cook some of these foods I decided doing a little of my own research and hey, maybe one day I’ll become a pro and even teach her a thing or two (wishful thinking).

I found these amazing cookbooks and online recipes. Lately, I have been following Pam, a stay at home mom who blogs about all these great tasting meals accompanied by pictures on www.loveforcooking.net . Wow, do they look delicious!

Just in case the title doesn’t catch your attention those pictures will. It’ll suck you right in. She has all types of recipes to choose from ranging from entrees to desserts and more.

There are a few things though that I would recommend Pam in order to better dialogue with some of her followers such as myself.

She should take some time here and there to write back to her followers which she doesn’t normally do. Also, she should write more about herself. She has a very brief description of herself, but she seems like a very interesting woman and I would like to know more about where this passion from cooking comes from.

She should definitely consider putting these in a book! I don’t always have access to the internet, but I would sure love to continue following Pam and all her recipes.

Above all, I really enjoy her recipe blogs, so Pam, keep on blogging!
