Why doesn't my company promote social media? Social Media is important in any work place. I send emails and place phone calls to many different people and never get to put words or voices on a face.
It would be cool to see who Nancy from lending is! We don't necessarily need to be on Facebook but maybe our own little site were we can address our opinions and interact with other coworkers as well.
One problem with social media is that it can be addictive and might get employees side tracked. What we can do to correct that is possibility have training to show them how to properly use social media in the work place.
The way Professor Richman explained to us how her job has their own social media system is great. Wish I had that at work
My company used to have Facebook at work. It was just officially blocked last week by our IT guy because of his personal issues. Something about his family being upset that us at work know more about him than they do. I don't think this is a good excuse on why we needed to get rid of Facebook in our company, but there's nothing I can do about it. Just wanted to share being you had written about it. :-)
